Sorting and Filtering Records in FeaturePlan

The quick view is dynamic. You can sort and filter the data within it ad hoc. These operations do not alter your data and can be as simple or complex as needed.

You can tell if a filter has been enabled because the quick view displays a white funnel icon in the headers of the columns where filters have been applied. It also lists the same columns at the
bottom left hand side of the quick view. If the quick view has been sorted, a white triangle icon is displayed in the headers of the columns on which the quick view has been sorted.

Sorting The Quick View
An arrow icon is displayed in the header of the column to indicate the direction in which the column is sorted. Click the header of the column you want to use for sorting.

To sort on multiple columns:
• Click the column header of the primary column then Shift+click or Ctrl+click additional columns.

To change the sort direction:
• Click the column header to cycle through the sort order.

Filtering The Quick View

To filter a quick view you need to apply a filter on one or more columns. Use the Set Filter Options dialog to define the filters you want to apply.

How to filter a quick view:

1. In the quick view toolbar, click the Filter icon. The Set Filter Options dialog box is displayed.

2. In the Field column, click the drop-down list and choose the column by which you wish to filter.

3. In the Operator column, click the drop-down list and choose an operator. The choices offered are dependent on the chosen Field.

4. In the Value column, specify a value or choose from the available options. The choices offered are dependent on the chosen Field.

5. If necessary, click the Plus icon to add more conditions.

6. If more than one condition exists, specify the logical operators.
- Click the drop-down list, found to the right of the Value drop-down, then choose either the And or Or option as appropriate between each condition row.

7. When you are finished, click Save.

To clear any filters in your quick view:

In the quick view toolbar, click Clear Filters. All applied filters for this quick view, saved or not, are cleared and all records will be displayed in the quick view
